My heart and I’m sure the hearts of thousands of people who had the good fortune to know Sue is filled with such sadness at the news of her all too early passing. She was a beautiful human being who lived her life with kindness, compassion generosity and was loved and admired by all of us who knew her. My love to all her family, especially Nigel, Hannah and George who were so lucky to have such a special person in their lives I only wish it could have been so much longer for them and for all of us.

Sue was a highly respected and valued colleague. Sending our condolences and some personal memories Sue was an amazing advocate for some of our most vulnerable children and young people. She was warm, approachable, and always keen to share her expertise often taking less experienced staff under her wing - a great role model. Her contributions and advice were always well considered and thoughtful. She had a fabulous sense of humour, was quick witted and would regularly brighten up the room with her infectious laugh. She left a lasting impression on me and the wider team. She will be greatly missed (Michelle Place) I first started working with Sue in 2007 so knew just how lucky we were when she agreed to come and join the Children’s Mental Health Transformation Programme leading the work with Regional Clinical Networks on Health and Justice. Sue had the most extraordinary combination of gentleness and steel- she was always patient with people, pointing out the right thing to do with such logic and kindness. She was a compassionate colleague, supportive in times of stress but with a rich sense of humour and the ridiculous. She made me want to try harder, to do better. There are thousands of young people that will never know her name but whose lives have been turned around thanks to her, and so many professionals who will continue to be inspired by her. What a legacy she leaves (Kathryn Pugh) I worked with Sue for a short time but in that time, she made a huge impression on me, she was so compassionate, full of insight and wise. Years later I still reflect on, and frequently reference some of the conversations we had which drew on years of dedicated work and experience. She was a wonderful woman, and I would like to send my thoughts and condolences to her family and friends at this very difficult time. She will be very much missed but never forgotten (Jessica Sharp)
